A phone bill (not dick) in a box

Fellow Mac chick iJustine certainly nailed AT&T in this video.  No one needs a 300-page phone bill in a box (incidentally, I'm hoping someone does an online Phone in a Box parody set to Dick in a Box, sign me up for a part in that).

What's even more frustrating than thick bills is how tech companies package products.  I recently bought a Logitech USB-powered headset and I needed a pair of heavy duty scissors to pry the tech toy free (it's like Logitech didn't want me to call my mom on Skype...perhaps, just perhaps, they're in bed with telco giant AT&T ;-).

WOW, she has had nearly 360,000 views, so thats 1,200 views per page of the bill, If she gets paid per view she may just make enough to pay that bill. A 3 page bill kills my bank account so wonder now much her 300 page bill was for? As for packaging, now do you get your new heavy duty scissors out of the packet in order to open the plastic packet that they come in? L&L, Steve

You gave the GN Netcom usb digital signal processing headset a good review on "Call for Help" and I went out and got me a pair which, I might add are very comfortable and have extremely good sound and here you are buying a Logitech set?

On the note of wasted tech package, I just recently picked up a Samsung monitor. Each cable was individually wrapped in a plastic bag; some (not all!) were then stored in an additional plastic bag. One would hope that in the recent trend of eco-awareness, companies can investigate their own packaging and perhaps come up with friendlier solutions.

Why is it newsworthy to turn on itemized billing and ramp up messaging to your phone (including sending your twitter feed)? How long was her pre-iPhone bill with itemized billing enabled? Meh, looks like a publicity stunt to me.

I think it was David Pogue who said that manufacturers use those heavy plastic packages because once customers cut them open, they think that they can't return them anymore.

I have a few headsets, but do like Logitech a lot. As for this being a publicity stunt, I do think that it is perhaps just a video that is supposed to make us think.

really? I think she is kind of scary looking. However, the billing thing is just silly. When you turned on detailed billing who would have imagined that the results would be that much paper. And what was ATT (or whoever actually prints out the bills) thinking when those enormous bills started rolling off the printers?
