A Free Tibet & Dead Smurfs on Webnation #11
Earlier this month I posted about Lhadon Tethong's online fight for a free Tibet and NowPublic.com's $10M news. We interviewed Tethong and NowPublic's Actual News Guy on Webnation (on CP24/Citytv & online) this past week, so check out the show above and here. For all the links, please visit citynews.ca/webnation.
As for the smurfs, they do make a "brief" appearance in this episode as well ;). Enjoy!

Great episode Amber! Excellent blend of deep intellectual news and some of the flaky stuff, all connected and connecting us to and through the internets.

I have a suggestion. Post all of your videos as MP3 podcasts also. Digg Nation does this. I think this way you'll get new subscribers who have audio only iPods.

This is such a good idea for broadcasting "Webnation". It's the first time I've had occasion to watch the show. Interesting Amber.

any way to make it so that the video doesn't automatically play? As much as I like your work I would rather not have to hear the video start whenever I hit your website.

Does anyone know how I can get Blip.tv to NOT autostart? Perhaps just pull out a line of code!? HELP! -A

Amber, until you get a solution, maybe you should just modify the entry and replace the Blip.tv with a link? I think that most of the visitors that would be interested in the story have seen it by now. The fact that it keeps starting even though we are coming in to check out new content is even more annoying.

I think I figured it out. In the javascript it has autostart=true so changing it to autostart=false would theoretically stop it. Of course theory and reality may be quite different!

Fantastic! The false switch works! THANK YOU!!! -A

That's nothing, Dick, if you can open up that bottle with your moob, though, then I'll be impressed.
