William Gibson & Bob Lefsetz on Webnation #14
I took science fiction literature in university, so it was a real treat to meet William Gibson and chat with him about his new book. As for Bob Lefsetz, I am a HUGE fan of his online newsletter (AKA electronic rants); but, more importantly, it is truly a wonderful thing to see Bob's face on Webnation because we had a looooooooong string of technical problems with his interview (Skype issues, Internet problems, losing tapes, etc.). Ah, good times!

This is your best episode so far. Which means you guys are just getting better and better. Outstanding job. You inspired me to create content of my own. You guys inspired me to get off my duff and make some noise on the world wide web. You guys inspired me to do something to proclaim to the world that Mel has something to say. But then I took another bong hit and that feeling was completely gone. However for a second there...

hey ace reporter (..ha) first time ive seen your Canadian show (your TV stations link doesnt work for UK) - very professional have liked your links on net@nite.. so i thought id send you this one - hope some of its new to you http://www.orangekite.com/funnyvideoclips.html

@mick4recycle What links did you try that didn't work? I'm in the UK and have not had any problems with any of Amber's links to her shows on CityNews from this page. I'm using FireFox on both PC's and Mac's. Most of the CityNew site works in the UK on FireFox, it's only the CP24 live feed that needs to be opened in IE for it to work, or from within Firefox using the 'IE Tab' plugin, download it here, https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1419 Althought CityNews doesn't seem to get the video for Webnation online, either on their site or on iTunes, until the middle of the following week. Think that may be everywhere though and not just the UK. As for not being professional, I think the fact that they lost tapes is more of a worry. I'm glad I'm not the only one that still does that, but was it Amber or Brian who lost then? By the way the OrangeKite site is pretty good. Is that your own site or one you found?

@SteveintheUK i just try the 'watch online' option on the citynews.ca site - thanks for the tech breakdown i got the link from a new Digg submission - about the (..needless to say, crazy..) Japanese cycling guy ..so they deserve the credit for finding the site i just wanted to pass it on..glad you like it ps communications breakdown - i meant the Show was professional - it reminds me that regular TV has a different style of presentation from podcasting - net@nite is quite laid-back - Webnation is pretty slick TV (as youd expect) @amber BTW watched Dexter after you recommended it - quite surreal.. maybe like A Clockwork Orange

A friend of mine went to see William Gibson at a local reading of Spook Country. Apparently it was the last stop on his tour and he decided to fudge some things on purpose to have a little fun. Here's the a link to his blog entry describing it. http://strange.humanities.mcmaster.ca/~grockwel/weblog/wpnotes/?p=1788

How is Spook Country? Reading reviews for it on Amazon and while most say it's a good book, not as good as Pattern Recognition. Sidetrack for a minute, what happened to the Kevin Smith interview?

Spook Country is good! As for Kevin Smith, it will be on Webnation #14 this Thursday - 11:35pm EST on CP24 - online the next day ;).
