UPDATE - 10:20pm:
Here's a great video reaction re: the Ontario election from the West Coast (more info here).

Tonight I am working the late shift, live blogging our provincial election from 8pm EST tonight (well, right now!) until 12am EST.   Although many of the visitors to this blog might not be from Ontario (or they might be from Ontario, but perhaps they don't care about the election), I am posting a note here because I have never covered an election and I have never really live-blogged an event.  In short, if you have any links, advice, or comments, I would love to hear from you (also, it could be a long evening...if you get my drift ;).  Thankfully my fellow commandN/CityTV colleague is also here monitoring the web with me!

P.S.  Also, I am trying to join a chat swarm in Skype on my PC at work...I don't understand how PCs work!

You're having to use a PC?? Call the UN...this election is rigged!! Drink plenty of coffee and enjoy....how do you blog a political event without getting political or are you allowed to have (and post) an opinion? Have fun :-) Phil

Sure, I can post what I want...I suppose. After all, I am live blogging so that works to my advantage ;).

Thanks for remind me to check the news, I am in Buenos Aires right now and guess what - they do not have CP24 (not even in Spanish - LOL). I voted just before I left the country so I am curious who will win.

I've never "covered" an election, but I did infrastructure support at CBC.ca for several years, through many elections. In this vote I'm interested in the Green popular vote, and also the breakdown of the referendum voting. Just be glad it's not a Federal election -- then you have to wait until the majority of returns are in for the BC ridings. :)

How long does it take to compile election results in Ontario? My guess is the tally won't be completed until late tomorrow (Wednesday). TV stations in the United States often make predictions when only two to five percent of the results are in. Their predictions often fall far from the mark, but they don't dwell on their errors. It must be fun watching the results come in from your vantage point, Amber! Your buddy, George Spink Los Angeles
