Kevin Smith & D. Coupland on Webnation #15

On a recent trip to British Columbia, I found out that we scored an interview with Kevin Smith while he was in Toronto.  To test our tech set-up, I jumped on the web cam in Vancouver and our team in Toronto met up with the filmmaker in person.  From talk of boobs, death, and toilets, I can honestly say that the 10-minute chat was a memorable one!  Check the show out here and get all the links on citynews.ca/webnation.

Great show! I don't read the man's blog that much, maybe once or twice a year, but I'm a big fan of his and Mosier's podcast (SModcast). Just, you know, heed the content warning that accompanies each show before you listen. p.s. He mentioned Webnation in his blog! Didn't talk about it, though.

Kevin is my hero! I actually forgive him for Clerks II! In a roundabout way, this interview lead to me deleting my Facebook account. Much to my wife's pleasure.

Man, I'm sick of people getting charged with these criminal offenses for downloading music.. and someone can assault his wife and get a slap on the wrist. This worlds priorities are messed up.

I should probably clarify that even though the "guy who assaults his wife" gets a criminal record.. he DOESN'T have to pay over $200,000...

Another great episode. Thanks Amber. Are there ever outtakes from these interviews? Are they edited down? And if so would you consider releasing the outtakes? Your interviews are brilliant and I would love to see any other footage if some exists. Thanks again, Mel

Kevin Smith AND Douglas Coupland in one show??? Douglas Coupland's been a big inspiration for me ever since Generation X. It was great to hear his take on his own work. That was so great. Kevin is hit or miss with his films, but his story-telling is beyond reproach. Circuitous, maybe, but excellent.
