Chocolate Rain in bed with Dr. Pepper
Leo sent me this video after we finished up recording next week's net@nite (we chatted with Kevin Spacey, yes the man who we know on-screen as Keyser Soze, and Dana Brunetti - co-founders of triggerstreet.com).
As for this vid, it did not take long for Tay Zonday to cash in on his booming "YouTube" voice. Good for him (although Dr. Pepper's Diet Cherry Chocolate Beverage sounds pretty nasty).

S'pore uses rap video to promote media growth
Just found this Yo! Singapore story on Reuters. You gotta love the creativity in this gov't-made YouTube creation. I wonder if anyone in the Canadian government would ever rap for us online to promote growth in the media industry?
UPDATE: There is already of spoof of the vid online.

I am not the girl on Buy a Blogger
This pic is too funny. I just had someone ask me on Facebook what type of work I'm doing with buyablogger.com (homepage above). The quick answer...none!
I have to admit, I can see the similarities but I would never wear that colour green! LOL!
On a side note, Brian from commandN just sent me a link to rottenneighbor.com - now this is my kind of site.

Sharks in Starbucks, Volusia, and Theatres
I've been swimming in Volusia County this week, the shark bite capital of the world.
I also popped in to the Sheraton in Cocoa Beach Friday aft, where I snapped this Starbucks sign on my BB (just a few feet away from a giant indoor shark tank).
And speaking of sharks, am hearing lots of buzz about the doc Sharkwater. I definitely plan to see it, but I think I'll wait 'til I get back up North ;).
On a side note, I took my mom jet skiing today. No shark sightings, but definitely an enormous amount of fun!

My parents launch bestofpei.com store
I'm in Florida for the week with my family. It's a little on the chilly side today, so we're all sitting inside surfin' the web (and then we're off for a geek field trip to BestBuy).
While eatin' b-fast, my parents just let me know that they have launched an online store for a shop they own on Prince Edward Island that sells ONLY PEI-made products (yes, they're heading the hyper local direction - everything single thing in the store is created by local artisans).
My folks were asking me how they get more traffic to the site, so I mentioned that it helps to have bloggers post about bestofpei.com. Naturally, I offered to be the first ;). For more about my home province, check out Wikipedia (and if you want to visit PEI, go between April-October...for obvious climate reasons).
In other non-Island tech news, lots going on in the net neutrality debate in Canada (Keith, thx for the link!).

Behind the Scenes Video with Dalai Lama - Press Meeting in Toronto
The Dalai Lama just spent a couple of days in Toronto. I had the great honour of attending a small "meet the press" event. Here is a 4-minute behind-the-scenes video of the event (thx to Chris Dick for shooting, Dan Hart for editing, Brian McKechnie for all things web!). Got to shake His Holiness' hand, haven't washed it since ;-).

Net Neutrality Update: Associated Press proves ISP blocks web traffic
For the net neutrality supporters among us, here is an update on how an Associated Press report proved that Comcast (US ISP) is blocking BitTorrent traffic.

Hope ISPs in Canada don't head this way...oh wait, maybe it's too late?!
