Net Neutrality in Canada - CBC-Spark News Update
I've been meaning to post this radio show/audio podcast all day, but am just getting to it now.
This week's episode of Spark on CBC Radio is all about Internet access, with many mentions of net neutrality. I did a short segment for the program about net neutrality and bandwidth throttling. Nora, Dan, Elizabeth, and the rest of the team did a great job on this episode; it starts with a pizza order and ends with Mirko Bibic, Bell Canada's Chief of Regulatory Affairs (incidentally, I did a net neutrality story on Citytv last year - both Rogers and Bell refused to comment, so it's good to see one party actually participate in a conversation about the subject).
(Am officially wrapping up all work for the night, so now it's time for The Wire - am only on Season 3, and at this rate it will be 2012 before I get through all 5!)

Thanks for mentioning Spark Amber. I just subscribed to the show via iTunes. Bandwidth throttling is a serious issue in my opinion. ISP's advertise a specific speed with unlimited downloads. Then you hear about companies such as comc@st who set in place an alleged invisible limit upon the consumer. Troubling... Slow.. Extremely counterproductive to the advancement of the Web.

I absolutly am in love with you. I hope you don't mind that I impersonate you and include this made up personality on my blog?

Amber -- I have enjoyed your blog, video and audio for years and still do. I wanted to comment on your new update and see if I'm alone with my 'second take' look at your site. The new blog look is much more attractive 'initially,' but I've found that it is more difficult to read each time I come back to it -- hard on the eyes. Are their others that find the 'new look' less reader/viewer friendly. (don't take this the wrong way ... I just wanted to see if I'm the oddball?)

@RichC - I haven't had any other comments like this, but I can understand that sometimes white text on a dark background is difficult!

RichC... I like the new layout. Not to "kiss up" to Amber, but I really think that the site is well thought out and pleasant to visit. It gives many more options up front, yet still gets the info that she intends for us to absorb right off the bat. Ok, what I said made sense in my head.

Hi Amber, I’ve watch a lot of your podcasts and shows since your Call for Help days and Webnation’s on-line. You exude such warmth and captivating presence because you’re also beautiful just like your name, with a subtle disarming intelligence, so I’m honoured to say hi. The reason for my e-mail is to see if you could help us 6,200 members of our on-profit web community through any of your shows to have a balance community and e-commerce and also find a solution in overcoming our worry regarding hackers who have chosen to target us incessantly. We will more than appreciate if you have any time to reply us. Regardless I still love your shows.

Amber, Thanks for turning me on to Spark. I started listening a few weeks ago and it's great! One more reason the Canadians are better than us.
