My election blog, noodles as stirsticks, and commandN (151)
I'm not going to lie. The upcoming US election is much more exciting than the upcoming Canadian election (might have something to do with Obama and Palin). Nonetheless, it's important for those of us living north of the border to get involved with what's happening in our country. Fortunately, I am writing a daily election blog for CP24, so tracking the election online is baptism by fire for me. Visit the new blog here.
Although we're not using a true blogging platform, we have hacked it together so we can allow comments and a few other Web 2.0 features. If you find any interesting Canadian election videos, comments, or links, let me know.
On the issue of stirsticks, I was at the Rustic Cosmo Cafe in Parkdale today and I love their idea of using spaghetti noodles as stirsticks in an attempt to try to reduce the use of plastics. Random, I know.

Amber, I have been to the Rustic too, and have noticed said stirsticks. I thought it was a novel idea at the time and I am so glad you brought it up here. Speaking of Parkdale (well, kinda'), you need to check out the Cherry Bomb on Roncesvalles about 3 blocks north of Queen on the east side. I miss that place since I have moved out of the area. No noodle stirsticks, but great coffee.

ACORN has demonstrated that this election has been corrupted beyond recovery & scrutiny. If they continue that will be proof that can't be clean and honest elections ever again!

Marconi is correct ... ACORN may have had the best of intentions, but too many people are coming forward to testify that ACORN workers have purposely submitted false registrations and encourage multiple registrations (70+ for one guy in Cleveland Ohio). This is disturbing for all who believe in a democratic election process. From a personal example of 'ease' of fraudulent voting here in Ohio, I'm sitting on an absentee ballot for my son who also decided to register up at school when people came around to his dorm. How easy would it be for him to vote twice? Not enough fraud prevention in the voting system IMHO.
