Spin Master Hatchimals Toy

Hatchimals is one of the hottest toys this season. There are five different species of Hatchimals, and each of these little toy animals start off their “lives” incubating inside an egg. The more your child plays with the egg, the faster it hatches, and the fun grows from there (check out my video at the bottom of this post to see it in action).

To get an egg to hatch, kids must interact with its shell, which features touch technology that took more than a year to develop. When you tap on it, the Hatchimal taps back. When you stroke the top or bottom, it lights up and makes sounds. After about half an hour of play, the Hatchimal starts to peck forcefully while rotating its head to hit different spots of the shell until the beak breaks through enough to for the cute creature to meet its new owner.

  • Stage 1 Egg: Nurture your egg.
  • Stage 2 Hatching: Encourage and help your Hatchimal as it hatches.
  • Stage 3 Baby: Care for your Hatchimal’s wants and needs.
  • Stage 4 Toddler: Teach your Hatchimal to walk, talk, and dance.
  • Stage 5 Kid: Unlock games to play with your Hatchimal.

You can also reset your Hatchimal to Baby at any time. Check out the Hatchimals website (and, for a quick look at what they can do, the Hatchimals Tips & Tricks cheat sheet in their FAQ section) to find out more.

PS: I hear that Santa is sending out letters asking kids to be patient if they don’t find one under the tree on December 25th (in other words, there should be more available in the new year).
