Future of Dairy Farming: Automation & AI

I recently spent the day on a dairy farm west of Toronto to learn more about the bright future of agriculture. I’ve been talking about AgTech for the past couple of years, especially when exploring the advantages of artificial intelligence relative to how we get our food.
I was pleasantly surprised to see the many health benefits of automation (e.g. happy cows who can get milked on their own schedule) when I set foot for the very first time in a high-tech dairy barn. Plus, it was inspiring to hear how Ashley @browndalefarm – a 4th generation farmer – is able to continue the family business thanks to automatic milking systems, automated feeders, and lots of data and analytics 24-7.
It’s clear that our Ontario dairy farmers are committed to implementing this kind of technology to improve their farming practices, something we can feel proud about when you support local.
